Hi Fellas...
I was looking thru some older photos, since I can't go fishing with the weather, and ran across this gem.. It was the last time I got to fish with my Dad..
October 2002, he would pass away 2 months later..
The old man taught me just about everything I needed to know about fishing, life, love, God & country. We had some great talks while wetting a hook and got into quite a few heated disagreements over stuff, but always parted ways with a hand shake and a hug.
He was a Navy pilot during WW2, stationed in Hawaii after the attack on Pearl Harbor, came home and kept flying as a pilot with Piedmont Airlines and retired as a dispatcher, but never did understand how a helicopter stayed in the air, nor would he ever fly with me....
We did catch our share of fish, lost a lot of lures & jigs and survived one boat wreck.....
Happy belated Father's Day to all the Dads that put us youngin's on the right path....
Its great to go back thru old photos from time to time. Sounds like your father was a great man. Happy Fathers Day.
