    Default Livewell oxygen systems

Clay suggested I bring this to the General Forum.

This thread is for crappie fishermen that are currently using supplemental livewell oxygen systems for live bait and tournament fish in the summer.

Fishing oxygen systems are real life support system, like oxygen life support system used by firemen, fishermen for live bait and tournament crappie, aviators and in hospitals. On the other hand mechanical aerators in livewell are more like an electric fan blowing plenty air at ambient summer temperatures 95F – 100F air temp.

For all of you that do used and depend on supplemental oxygen livewell systems, a few questions. I would appreciate your opinions.

There are many different kinds of fishing oxygen systems o the market now; what kind do you use and what are the characters of the systems you have chosen to use to keep your live bait and tournament crappie alive all day in your livewells and bait tanks?

    Thanks for participating.

I use the Keep it alive. Most of my experience with it is with bass, but I have used it a few times on crappie and white bass. I no longer have to worry about the fish at all. Turn it on. Run my livewell every once in a while to change out some water. Really helps with bleeding fish as well. Have not lost a tournament fish in 3 years of using it. Refill last me around 25 tournaments. I also used it to transport Trout to a farm pond. The only problem with it, is the fish are so lively at weigh in, they wont sit still long enough to get weighed.
