    I use bait casters on my spider rig for all My rods. I do have so soon cast I mix in occasionally though. I run shallow, 3 ft or less and it’s easier to use a bait caster in those situations with 16 and 14 ft poles. Easier to thumb the fish down

    I like casting jigs for crappies. Not going to be able to cast a 1/32oz jig very far with a baitcasting reel. I save the baitcasting reels for musky fishing.

    use the baitcasters for trolling crankbaits

    mostly spinning reels for long line trolling but may throw in a baitcaster with a reel counter on it

    docks and drop shotting are always spinning for me
