    Default Fish finder suggestions....

Ok guys. The wife has given me the green light to buy a fish finder to hunt down some summertime crappie.Im gonna set the price limit to $600.Ive never owned a fish finder in my life.Ive done a lot of research and can't decide what to get.Im leaning toward a Hummingbird Helix 7 but can't pull the trigger yet.Any advice would be appreciated.

The Helix units are good I find that the bigger is better. With the smaller units for side image you must reduce the distance out to each side or view to only one side, for regular and DI reduce the water depth you are viewing.

Check the internet for the unit you want. Check out bbgmarine.com before you purchase.

In my opinion, all are good. All excel in different aspects. Bigger is better, and usually more expensive. The key with whatever you decide is to interpret what you are seeing. I’m still working on that part.

Get the biggest screen you can afford. To me right now for a guy that is getting into the fish finder scene, I would get a Lowrance Hook 2 with tripleshot. You can find some deals on them. I wouldn't go any less than a 7" screen.

I have 2 Helix 7's, a DI Chirp on the bow, and SI on the console. I love 'em!
