Default Central Florida for winter, where for summer?

Hey folks, dreaming of retirement and becoming a crappie bum, I live in Florida so winter is covered. So my question is, where to travel for summer?

Minnesota. Lots of water to fish and the summer temps a lil cooler than Florida.

    Eagle River Wisconsin.
Largest fresh water chain of lakes in the US.
They don't have AC units up there. One week in July gets hot, well hot for you der.

All sound great. Might have to connect the dots. Where in Maine for Crappie? Been through there a couple of times but never had time to fish.

Never been to Wisconsin. That's a thought. Do they have a bad black fly season?

Texas east of dfw has some of the finest crappie ketchn spots I have seen
mind you 3 lb fish are rare but to be sure numbers of 2 lb fish are a regularity
and about every lil mudhole up to a real big lake is full of crappie both black and white

I can attend with all those suggestions to a point, but it’s a heck of a long drive back south when that time comes. And they ain’t lettin ya bring da boat on da airplane. I drove over the road for 20+ years and have seen most everywhere east of the Rockies. When I got to wandering and wanted to resettle somewhere it was middle Tennessee that got my attention, and stole my heart in the 10 years I lived there. Very relaxed living and good fishing and only a day from St Augustine. I was between Nashville and Chattanooga and was never at a loss for a new fishing destination if I desired. Contact Alphahawk for more info as he still lives just south of Nashville. I came back south for the grandchildren and have questioned my sanity ever since. Just my input, hope it helps.
