If you don't fish much it will last a season or two. The little kid next doors mom got him 3 and after about three months of him fishing most days in the creek or out on the bay with me they all have had the wheels fall off. I've have had to replace 2 worm gears a thumb bar, 4 bearings / 2 anti reverse bearings and a main gear. The only thing really wrong with them is the tolerance in the parts are lose witch aids in the parts failing. I ended up just taking him to academy last weekend and buying him 3 of the shimano SLX because I was tired of ordering parts since I know a single mom with 3 kids doesn't have the extra money to blow on fishing stuff.

I bought 10 of the small spinning reels last winter and they have done me well so far.

Take a look at these and check the reviews. Some comparisons on YouTube also. Look like a pretty good reel for the money.

Got a buddy who buys piscufun and kastking he fishes very little .
with that said I used one of his baitcasters for a couple hours it was trying to say the least.
Backlashed every cast no matter what I did tried adjusting it no dice.
Honestly wouldn’t buy one myself they maybe some good ones but I don’t have time to wade through bad ones.

I had a Quantrum I almost really liked. Only thing wrong with it was I had a ton of trouble casting it. Found a Diawa RG on Amazon for about $50 and my trouble's went south. I mostly use level winds but just couldn't get the hang of that Quantrum. But as for the inexpensive casting reel, I'd try it just to see. Might work out and might not but it is inexpensive! Shakesphere and a Millionaire I have were both relatively inexpensive and both worked out fine, don't know how long they'll last but they were fairly inexpensive so don't really care. My first was a direct drive Zebco. I could still use it today and is was really inexpensive, bordering on cheap! My second was a Garcia 5000 I got about 1970. House burned don in 2001 and finally lost that reel. Used it a lot for a lot of years.

I own a few and subjectivity they are ok. I also own Harbor Freight tools. Inexpensive has utility under some circumstances. You don't buy Harbor Freight tools if you are a professional and you don't buy KK if you fish every day.

A few years ago I had some kids working for me and they destroyed tools so they got Harbor Freight tools. My wife goes fishing once every 10 years so she gets KK reels. Now there are some Harbor Freight tools that are not worth bringing home and there may be reels that are the same, KK is not in that group.

Actually I don't shop Harbor Freight much, 80mi one way! But I do have a few power tools and hand tools that are doing very very well! I doubt anyone has fishing reels that are used every day. Funny but on another site, one where two hundred dollar reels are the Holy Grail, you see a lot of them in the classified for sale! I've never seen a kastking reel but might look for one just to find out for myself. Do they have them on Amazon?

Well had to do it. Went to Amazon and they do have Kast King reels. Ordered a Red round one, look's like a Garcia 5000, $45. Also a Berkley Cherrywood 2 piece 6'6" rod. Be here by next Wednesday!
