    The point I was trying to make is that it is how you are going to use something that is an important part of the evaluation. I always used cheap second hand shotguns because I didn't want to worry about scratching it or having it out in the rain. I also wouldn't want a thousand dollar reel that could go overboard or stolen out of the boat while I'm walking to or from the boat. It largely depends on your personality. I'm frugal but I have also been penny wise and pound foolish.

    Bought several lasting Orcas and have used t,hem fr 3 years and love them,,,, mainly use when spider lining so they have caught everything from crappie to giant cats and stripes,,,,12 bearing reels and drags with 24 lb capabilities ,,,,real nice stuff for the money,,,,

    I have 2 KK Sharky III's, would not buy again. Bail rough closing. Okuma's are smooth.

    I have to come down hard on both of the KK Sharkys to make the bail reset after casting. Have 3 Okuma's, a Penn, a cheap Berkley and several other cheap spinning reels, they all are smoother than the KK's.
