I bought the newer model 74SV and love mine. I could have gone with the 73SV but I wanted the best and newest with my Livescope.
They are excellent units. User friendly interface, four buttons on the side for "quick screens", quick draw mapping (add a compatible sd card, and map as much as you want, with no need to upload anywhere) Much more that I'm forgetting.
Tips: YouTube
If the link doesn't work, look up Benjamin Nowack (sp?)
The one he does the video on, is the next model up. The concept is the same though, and screen layout /menu is similar.
I wouldn't worry about the CV transducer, unless you're really into it, you won't notice a difference.

it is my understanding the only difference between the 74 and 73 is the 74 has coastal maps and the 73 doesn't
The 74 has coastal maps, correct, no inland maps. 73 series has inland maps, no coastal maps. Only difference I'm aware of.

Skunked- the YouTube video was very informative. Thanks!
Y’all are correct on diff. between 73 & 74. Only indicates which maps are preloaded.
Something else too chew on - if preloaded maps and linking units together are not important - get the striker series. Same transducer, same screen quality, not touch screen, no microsd card slot.

Picked one up, thanks clecker
