Worked for me, I caught a local guide messing with my gear and fish finder. He had to pay $2000 restitution and 100 hours of community service. Also lost his license for a year because I also am a guide on the same lake

Have had multiple items stolen while parking/retrieving boat . Fishing by yourself has it's disadvantages for sure . Things stolen ? Jig pole at Lawlers old store on 32 on Enid . Figured it was someone who knew me well enough that I would take it as a joke if caught . To much glass on store front to be seen . One windy day I parked at Bryant on Grenada and since so many were putting in no place to tie off boat . Stuck paddle in sand and looped rope over it . When I got back paddle gone . After waiting so long to get out of Sardis at Holiday Lodge on Sardis I pulled over and made a dash for the restroom and some jack wagon stole my jig box ! Long time ago in Ackerman a new shiny fly box was taken off the dash downtown ! lol figured very few would not even know what it was .That was when I thought folks only stole things they used . Today's thief is on a higher level of sorry . Guess I am lucky because I did not catch anyone and got my butt kicked ! one of us would have .

These horror stories is the reason I got Kena stay with my boat. Had to leave on the water while I took my trailer to weld side board brackets . I did not feel safe welding on trailer with boat on it . But did not feel safe leaving boat unattended . Sad how bad thieves have gotten .

Stealing has got really bad in the past few years and vandalism is getting worse also. I just don't know why they want to ruin things around our lakes and parks.
Be safe and good luck fishing
The level of ignorance of some are amazing . While working as a ranger we got calls about people stealing gas at night at the lake . Crazy thing was that they would cut the hose instead of taking it lose from the tank . Most likely a kid stealing fuel for a jet ski not being familiar with tanks/such .
A buddy of mine has a place at the beach that he visits mostly on weekends. He noticed for some strange reason that the power bill became higher than usual. He took off a few days of work and went to the beach house to prepare for friends coming down to fish for the weekend. He found was his shop door had been pried open and there were several drop cords running from his shop over to the neighbor's bait freezers. Instead of waiting around to confront the neighbor, my buddy went up the road to stay with a friend. He rolled back to his beach house like usual with no drop cords around and his shop closed up. My buddy acted like nothing was wrong, then just before he left, he wired the receptacles in the shop for 220 volts. He changed the locks the following weekend and hasn't had any trouble since.
