a lot kids get started with spin cast reels where you cast right handed and switch hands to reel .A lot of pro bass fishermen cast right handed and reel right handed ,maybe cause they started on right handed spincast reels.

Bass pros switch hands on bait cast reels but not on spinning reels.

All of my spinning rods have the handle on the left side, and all of my baitcasting rods the handles are on the right. Don’t know why, but have just never been able to get used to reeling left handed with a baitcaster, but can do it just fine with a spinning rod. Makes no sense but that’s just how it is for me.

I cast with my right arm, flip the bail with left hand and reel with right hand. It is second nature to me.
