Perhaps it’s not directly related to fishing but it’s the reason we can go fishing. It’s the reason we can own the boat that we want, to take to the lake of our choice, pulled behind the truck of our choice. I remember many times wondering if I would see this age and this day but I have. Many have not. I don’t want people to thank me this weekend I want them to thank the ones that can’t be in that boat on that lake. 3 o’clock Monday and all you have to give up is one minute of that entire day. Please remember.

As A Veteran myself, as well as the son and sibling of Veterans, I agree with Sourmash, I am not looking for anyone to come up and thank me for my service. However it would still my heart if they took a moment of silence with me for the Veterans who have fallen, and a prayer for their loved ones they left behind protecting their rights and freedoms all Americans have come to enjoy. I know I will be taking time to honor and respect them as I do every day.
Proud to have served with and supported the Units I was in: 1st IDF, 9th INF, 558th USAAG (Greece), 7th Transportation Brigade, 6th MEDSOM (Korea), III Corp, 8th IDF, 3rd Armor Div.

ketchn tips his hat to all our veterans of the armed services and for sure appreciates every last one of their contributions .

This post represents the greatness of our souls here on Crappie.com. My flag flies in front of my home 24/7 and will continue to honor all who have served and are serving today, until the day I die. Thank you all for being who you are and above all, God Bless America.

Donr forget, Half mast till noon. Then double time to the top till sunset.

I've manned the rails on many occasions at attention to salute as the procession moved along...now I will take off my hat and silently thank my brothers.

Thank you to all the veteran's on the site and to all the one's that fought and lost their lives so that we might be able to live in a free country. One day is not enough to show them are gratitude. So if you know a veteran thank them every chance you have. It doesn't matter what your party affiliation is, or your beliefs are. Without these men and women you wouldn't be able to chose or practice either one.

I have been watching Memorial Day Ceremonies from all over the country all day today and I still get a huge lump in my throat every time I hear taps being played.
I won't ever forget hearing taps and the 21 gun salutes at my dad's funeral and at his dad's funeral too. God Bless all of our fallen heroes, Amen.
