I use it as a learning experience. One way is to teach my daughter what not to do or be like. The other is that I know I'm good enough to catch fish anywhere. I just leave and find another spot. Way more rewarding, less stressful, and oftentimes better fishing.

I've found some of the best locations when I've been forced to do so. I won't stoop to their level. I'm pretty witty and could come up with a ton of fun things to say or do. In the end, it isn't worth my time.

Best I have found. I also have an aversion to educating people like this so that when they come, it’s time to go and let them figure it out on their own. I have to avoid things like this lest my blood pressure get too high.
Your "throwing high wake optional" comment reminds me of my comment of "a couple of tight wave maximizing turns around your boat" from my posting on 1/20/2012 about some inconsiderate fishers.

I would hate to become them but I think before I just packed up and left I'd to something like fake that I don't know how to cast and thrash the heck out of the water for a few minutes and then say well I guess there not bite'n and head out.

I never did it but.......If they got too close I always wanted to pick up the muskie rod and chuck one of these. Might even throw one their direction and explain how I make them myself weighted 2 oz. and hiding in the flashabou are three 5/0 trebles. Just might get them to seek another spot.

The local lake here is getting terrible. You cant make a cast offshore without a boat or 2 circling you. A buddy of mine when to Alaska a few years back for some guided trips. On one of his off days, he walked down to stream near his cabin and began killing the trout. He said after about his 5th or 6th one a gentleman walks out of the woods on the other side of the stream and stands directly across from him and starts casting. The stream was only 20ft wide. He looks over at the guy and says, buddy I am from TN, and where I come from, walking up and casting where a man is catching fish is asking for trouble. The gentleman looks up and calmly says: Well sir, I grew up just down the road, and where I come from, we fish in pairs, on opposite sides, facing each other, as not to get eaten by a grizzly. My buddy grins, and tells him to carry on.

Carry some of these with you and just casually toss one in their boat as they get close. (36) Stink Bombs - Stinky Glass Gag Prank Fart Joke (1 case of 36) 4012374366282 | eBay

Not to continue my previous post, as I read this again tonight Jerry Hamilton came to mind. A very intelligent, giving man that showed me an awful lot about crappie fishing. Jerry liked to fish a bridge post and would never intrude on anyone, but go find somewhere else, and he knew where to go. One morning he was at the bridge and two young twenty somethings just pulled up and did their best to push Jerry out of the way. He said something about there being lots of places to fish, and I was set up here before you launched. The one guy evidently was feeling his oats and said that if Jerry didn’t watch out they’d go to the car and get the pistol. To this, Jerry calmly said “ good. When you get back, we’ll both have one.” They moved on shortly after. My point in all this is; no matter how it sits with you, keep in mind just how fast it can get out of control. I’m at the point in my life where I can write checks I can’t cash. THAT is difficult to remember sometimes.

Fishing is supposed to be about enjoying yourself out on the water, not about gunfights. What's wrong with these people?
