    Default Help with trolling cranks

I am new to long line trolling cranks. I am in north Florida and the deepest part of the lake I fish is 15-16 ft. Today all I could catch were blue brim and bass. Anybody have any tips? I caught crappie all fall, winter and spring long lining jigs.

Do a search on forum, tons of threads discussing trolling cranks and at different depths.

Speed and depth. I pull about 1.5 with my cranks and match the depth to just at or above the bait of suspended fish. You have to pull right above them. That is why you need so many different cranks. Today you may need bandit 300s to pull 12 to 14 foot down and tomorrow 100s to pull really shallow. Just depends on where they are. Also white crappie will hit a crank better, but I actually catch more black because my lake has about 75% black.
