As CrappiePappy said i would be guessing this has more to do with it. Coming from someone that builds a lot of rods, you can never tell what blank is good or bad when your building it. Most of the time it will snap at the damaged spot on the first hard hookset or with a hard fighting fish. Crappie rods might take longer because most people don't really set the hook hard and the light line giving saves the rod. Most crappie rod blanks have some pretty thin walls to keep the weight down on the longer rods, so the thing that kills them is high sticking the rod flipping a fish in. Doing this over and over will it self damage the blank to a point of its a ticking time bomb on when it will break.

If any of you know how I fish, braid, heavy hook set and flip most fish in the boat....
I'm a long time BnM BGJP user and have caught thousands of fish on them.....
I was totally pleased with the rods although that tip on most of them would break but easily fixed with a replacement eye tip.
They are priced just right and I'll never bash them....

The Thump City Crappie Rods I'm using now are a little more pricey and I've got a couple hundred fish on the 1st one I got and love the rod more on every hook set...

The Thump City Crappie Rods are on a different level than the BnM's, I say this because depending on your budget the BnM BGJP's will get the job done....
Sorta like a Ford Pinto versus a Crown Vic, they'll both get you there but the Crown Vic has the comfort and all the bells and whistles....

    Default Another one broke !

Most rods get broken when people step on them or crush them somehow without knowing it. THEN later on a hook set or trying to swing a fish in it snaps in 1/2

I've been using ACC CRAPPIE STIX the last two year. Sling all my crappie with them and never broke one yet. Great rod and great customer service.

I also love my ACC Crappie Stix, fantastic rods with replaceable tips, I just wish their 5'6" dock shooter rod came in 6 foot.

I have been searching for the perfect dock shooter rod - for me - and am looking forward to trying the Denali out. I also single-pole jig a lot so a rod that does both is a plus.
They are working on a 6' and a 6'6" ACC shooter that should be out later this year
