So after I posted this to my facebook page the day it happened and a local guy says hey ketchn , my son and I are off on Friday and wish we could find some crappie. says the local crappie house is dead and asks if I might lead him to spot or 2 to find some crappie .
I told him precise specifics on this location and what to expect in a private message area after he was sworn to secrecy
1...there will be a crowd as I am sure the older fella has a bunch of buddies
2...the fish like this particular corner and that particular corner of the dock
3...get there EARLY as the crowd will come and that's when the bite is best
4 ….be prepared for some really large crappie as I am sure there are a bunch over 2 under that dock
5,,,,go get em bro ...thank me later
he reported back it was as true as it could ever be and even lost one he said the older crew said was pushing 3 ,told me them local boys stacked em up and lots were over 2 .told me thank you so much and he and his son caught a bunch of crappie.
And that my friends made me smile real BIG

Great doings there. Always nice to have fish and share with friends.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Great reading Ketchen, as always. I also suffer from hearing loss due to military service. Being a cook, is not all it's cracked up to be some times. From being exposed to Loud explosives while on a range,(not a small weapons range, but the big 155's and 5 inch guns, to the sudden shock of some stainless steel pans crashing to the floor when someone knocks them off a shelf, as well as the high pitch whine of the turbo on the deuce and half truck you drive to the field at 35 miles an hour for up to 12 hrs. to go a short distance. Yes it all has taken it's toll. Glad you helped the older gent out. The folks here at CDC rock....
Proud to have served with and supported the Units I was in: 1st IDF, 9th INF, 558th USAAG (Greece), 7th Transportation Brigade, 6th MEDSOM (Korea), III Corp, 8th IDF, 3rd Armor Div.

That's what happens when I fish with mac. he can't hear a damn think either and have to yell a lot. Sounds like you had a great time and really made that gentleman's day.
