Minnow's? I prefer natural bait. You know, something plastic! :-)
I prefer plastic , but I also know what they eat when I am not there as well .
My jigs are ready 24/7 ---- minnows - uh oh!!

There’s nothing more natural than plastic.
It’s a petroleum product, which comes from recycled dinosaurs. T-Rex is a killer crappie bait.
Some men like to fish with 2” minnows. Other men choose to fish with a 20-foot, 8-ton predator. What type of man are you?
Never used minnows. I prefer plastics as well. Preferred over all is my hand ties.

I seldom leave the dock without plastics, hand ties and minnows. Crappie can be finicky and you never know what they want from day to day. I prefer plastics/hand ties I have trusty minnow bucket close by.

As said jigs (casting with or with out a float or jigging) has a learning curve. Having confidence in what your using is key or you will never give it the chance to build your confidence. I have watched friends get bites on jigs and never know the crappie had it until I told them or just grabbed their rod and set the hook. Because I saw the float twitch and not go under or the line jump and they never felt or saw anything. When crappie are in their dog days of summer funk, can minnows out produce inactive fish to bite yes.
