I do. Not really a decision thing for me. I match the line to the fishing style not the pole. If an eye grooves or nicks and the line catches on it, just smooth it out again if not too deep.

I've got braid on several of my BnM long rods, and on one of my casting rods. Braid won't groove a decent quality guide, but it will/did groove the cheaper (softer metal) guides. But, the braid I use on my long rods is for the main line only. I use 6# test leader lines on those rods, since the braid is 30# test. The braid I use on the casting rod is only 10# test, so I don't use a leader on it.

I buy good tips, made of hard heavy medal, Stainless Etc. Cheap rod tips will groove easy with braid.

Just started using Suffix series braid 15lb. (= to 5 lb. mono dia.) on my spinning rods this season. Love it. Hardly no memory compared to mono.

To answer the original question. B&M used to put a tag on their poles that said not to use braid. In last couple of years they upgraded their eyes. Best I could gather from them they thought braid lead to to many broken tip’s which was a phalasy.

I've been using Fireline Crystal on 3 of my B n' M rods for quite a few years now. No problems, no worries. B n' M makes a quality rod. Their guides can take it.

Switched 4 of my 16' poles over to braid because I couldn't find the color I wanted in mono, and boy what a pain in the butt it is to tie knots in. This stuff is slick. It lays flat but it doesn't wind on the reel smooth like mono does.
My opinion will probably change in time but for now I'm asking myself why don't they make big spools of mono in green, yellow, orange, and red?
