    Default 1/10 Jig heads??

Anyone here ever use or see 1/10 ounce jig heads? Ive been pouring a new mold lately and the "1/16" with my bigger hook of choice is coming out right at 1/10 after painting/clear coating. I'm not sure what to think of this, other than I guess I have another weight to add to my arsenal. Then I got to thinking just now, I can't remember ever hearing or reading about 1/10 jig heads. 1/48 (between 1/32 and 1/64) and 1/24 (between 1/16 and 1/32) yes, but not 1/10 (between 1/8 and 1/16). I'm actually pretty excited to give these a shot when the ice leaves!

Just about all jig heads sold....and even from ones mold is going to be heavier than what it is stated or what it is sold at.

I've wanted just that for this time of year. 1/16 takes forever to sink (or so it feels like when you're impatient like me) to 35 feet. 1/8 just feels too heavy.

I have been searching for a long time for what I think is the perfect jig head. I have found them. It is the Daiwa Gekkabijin Light Game jig head out of Japan. The hooks are needle sharp and I get the weights from .5 gram up to 3 gram in 1/2 gram increments. I get hook sizes on them from #10-#4. This allows me to be much more precise in working the depth I want....be it for crappie, trout, or bluegill.

    Regards

I order mine from Plat PLAT/Fishing Tackle Store-Fishing Equipment/Catalog-Hook-S.W. Light Game Jig Head-GEKKABIJIN SW LIGHT JIGHEAD SS-en

Just ordered another 100 last night. I think in the last 4 months between me and my 2 nephews we’ve ordered close to a thousand. I’ve found the 1.5 gram size hits a big sweet spot for me.....equivalent to 1/19 ounce.

    Regards

They are expensive but fishing is my passion...and really my only passion so it is money well spent. I’ll tell you why I got these. I fish micro plastics and I never found a micro jig head that had the good hooks. I have had a lot of jig heads made over the years and while they were good I wanted hooks as sharp as needles. You can get bigger jig heads with the a Gamakatsu....Owner hooks but I never found anything in micro jig heads that impressed me...until the last few months. I ordered several brands of jig heads out of Japan and all of them were far better than anything I ever used. But when I got the Daiwa Gekkabijin jig heads I knew I had found what I wanted. My last jig head I used before going the Japan route was 13 Fishing’s Upper Cut micro jig head. While it is well made the hook did not impress me at all...it is too thick.

    Regards
