Given this was a warm Sunday afternoon there were a lot more people vying for the crappie than I had seen since Christmas.

I give mine to a young family who was trying to catch enough to have a fish fry for their parents. Made them and me happy, since combined with what they had caught they had enough for the fish fry and me since I did not need to clean them.
you know EZ it was rather cold a few nights before Sunday and that breaks the march march most of the time and or reduces it to mostly stubborn male fish and not so shallow then as well .
one thing for certain though they will be running shallow this week after a few toasty days ,this much I know without much doubt .

thanks so much for the comments everyone and I wish I had a just a little more time . I was at the hospital all day from daylight to dark becoming a grandpa yesterday and child rearing Sunday and know I missed a few fish as I got a report of some real nice females being in pretty tight at a spot I was supposed to visit Sunday .
I will be back after them soon though and am visiting a different lake early today to see what might be the deal over that way .

Naw, that can't be it. When I arrived I was told that everybody was catching limits that morning but the bite slowed down after 10:00 AM. And of course that was before I got there.

But yesterday afternoon was good. Not as good as Wednesday night but still good. I caught 19 crappie in three hours, 18 of which were legal keepers, some barely but still keepers. Since I was feeling lazy I gave all of them that were 10.5" or larger to a couple of guys who were not having quite as good luck as I had. Those between 10"-10.5" I returned to the water to grow a little more.
