I just wanted to bring this to anyone's attention that may be in the market for a new large tackle bag.

I have finally reached the point where I need to replace my nearly 15 year old Bass Pro Extreme 360 sized tackle bag. It's sure been a good one and taken a lot of abuse over those years, but now I need a bit larger capacity unit to store the tons of gear that I've accumulated since then. I was looking into the Cabelas Advanced Anglers Magnum sized tackle bag. It holds up to 8, 3700 sized hard boxes and retails for $90 when you buy it with the boxes already in it. The construction looks to be high quality but 90 bones is just too salty for me.

So I'm walking through Wally World a couple of days ago and stumble across this blaze orange tackle bag with 5 3700 sized boxes for $37! It looks to be nearly identical to the Cabelas bag in every way other than the fact that it is only capable of holding 5 boxes rather than 8 and that you can see it from the next county over. (I went to Oklahoma State so I'm good with the colors.) Zippers, material, rubber mesh, carry strap hardware, all the same! It will also hold 8, 3600 boxes vertically with 1, 3700 sized box sitting flat on top of them. This works particularly well for me since all I have to do is toss my old, already organized, 3600 boxes in the new bag and I get another big box on top of them. The boxes that it comes with are certainly not of the highest standard, but I'm not complaining since this rig was $50 less than the Cabela's bag. This thing has A TON of pocket storage space too! Again, these are configured almost identically to the Cabela's bag.

Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely a Cabela's fan. But if you're looking for a new tackle bag, I would urge you to check out Wally first. Especially if you don't mind orange and black!

Nice bag! Had one of the Cabela’s black and yellow ones that only held 6 boxes ! I liked the bag but I stuffed it to full and busted the zipper so I bit the bullet and bought the Advanced magnum today! Lots more room ! I applied for their store card and got 20 bucks off plus a 6 pack of flash light and 2 buck knives ! Out the door for 78and some change and 5 chances to win that Nitro boat! I can control the card and keep it paid off if and when I use it! N the process of moving into the new bag which will take a few days ! Lol

Good looking bag...I had one of the big Cabelas bags and used it for over ten years, held up great and is still in good shape.Last year I decided to trim down what tackle I was taking out with me because that Cabelas bag was full, big and weighed about 80 lbs.I now carry just a small bag that has the stuff Im going to use that day,so far I havent regretted downsizing at all.

I guess that depends on how small you're talking about. You could probably fit one of the little 2 sided pocket boxes in there.

80 lbs?!?! You'd need a wheelbarrow for it!

I have the same bag in a smaller size. Mine holds 4 boxes plus all the crap I've stuffed in the pockets. One of the most versatile bags I've used.
Wish my carry handle was as sturdy as yours. I use the shoulder strap for fear of ripping the handle. It's only attacked in two places, yours is four.

Yup those are good stuff I have 4 bags total (only 2 used) but they are different sizes by Ozark trail. I need smaller for kayak. I love the orange! The quality I think is the best bang for buck. If you keep your eye on them I’ve caught some of those bags on clearance which is why I have the 4......lol. Also you can swap out and rotate the plastic boxes inside so no need to carry everything only what’s needed that day.

Had one in my hands yesterday, and checked for that too... Yes, you can put a smaller box in the front pouch...
