First of all I mainly only spider rig, so how many tie braid straight to their jigs or do you use a leader? I use power pro slick braid and I like it but wonder if tieing it straight to my jigs will slow the bite because of being able to see the line? Whats your thoughts, thanks and God Bless

Well OK, since you did the research, what did you find out? And no worries, we never have a problem beating dead horses. They dead anyway! lol
Would love to hear what you found.

Now that you are on the subject,I currently use mono and I would like to try braided line. I also would like to know the answer to that question. I also would like to know if I should use a leader and what knot is best to attach the leader to braided line and what size braid should I buy.

Well I found what I already knew, lol. Some people hate braid, some don't know and some wont use anything else, some use it with a leader some with out, really a matter of preference I reckon. As for me I spider rig and use braid, but I will get right in the thick of things with stumps and rocks and anything else that might hold a slab and I have to rerigg a lot at times, so I am gonma try a couple rods tieing straight to the braid so I can just straighten the hooks and carry on. I seem to get better hookups while spider rigging with the braid and fluro leader over straight mono, I assume its because the lack of stretch when they hit or load the rod the lack of stretch sets the hook. Also when I do single pole waiting for the thump, nothing let's me feel like braid. I also don't mind beating dead horses, so comment if you would like, I will enjoy reading it all again. Thanks and God Bless.

Does braided line sink faster than mono and if I go to braid, should I go to floro for a leader. What advantages does floro have over mono as a leader.
