    I agree with others. My catch rate seems to be better on sickle hooks. I just seem to lose less fish on them but I still use the regular style as well. Fishing jigs tipped with minnows typically. Don’t hardly buy any unless sickle though now....

    I was so enamored when I found out about how well they hook up that I started pouring my own and bought 7000 hooks of different sizes, every one a sickle. The hook is built and then washed in an acid which removes a layer of the hook, making the point exceptionally sharp. This also may be why some of the barbs are smaller on some. I have landed bas up to 5lbs and crappie over 2lbs on #6 and #8 sickles. One of the best developments to my knowledge.

    The wire keepers on the jigs posted in the picture work very well for keeping plastics tight to the jig head. One particular brand of jigs I buy come with that wire straight so I can change plastics quickly and not wreck them until I find the plastic of the day then bend the wire keeper up.
