Saw someone on youtube using a Thill float that has spring for fixed float or could also use as slip float. Looking for slip float that could be removed without retying whole set up. I fan cast until find fish then switch to slip float to check out that area.

I bought three of the Crappie floats from Thill.(Todd Huckabee I think promoted them). They are great for slippers, but I could not get them to fix on any line I would use for crappie or bream. 14 lb worked ok tho. I wrote the company but got no response. No more of their product for me, for the price I expected them to work as advertised. Too many others available.

Thill. I prefer the ones with a brass insert in the top. Otherwise I wear a notch in the material and the line doesn't slide right.

I lose to many floats to use Thills. I use cheap comal styrofoam floats. I remove the pegs and run coffee stirrer down the middle of them to convert them to slip floats. If need it weighted I just use some metal washers and attached them with a hot glue gun. Cheap and effective.

hardly ever use a slip floater.use a fixed float in spring and fall ,shallow but have pick up 4 gallon jugs of floaters over the years and a high dollar rod and reel some one must have snagged on a tree when they went by and dragged it out of there boat. so now i can't pass up a lost float .most floats i find are thill.
