Everyone's passions are different . I have the following Okuma cellio , Shakespeare Micro series , Browning Air stream . The most expensive is the Browning that I bought from a guy on this site . I use Pflouger reels , mainly the 2025 . I do have two fly rods that I would not tell a psychiatrist how much they cost . lol The cost in order was 24.00 , 9.00 (Walmart on sale )and 50.00.

Anyway the cost always seems to be just a little over $200 when done. Two of the are for salmon- steelhead and one i use for crappie. I dont regret one minute the money spent. I have always ordered the materials from Mudhole. The blanks have all been MHX, im not a rod builder , i just fish.

I'll never deny anyone the right to spend their money any way they see fit, but after I paid the lawyers and court fees and alimony it would cost me alot more than $340.00 lol.

i've got 6 jdm's only one was well over 380.00 but most were pretty close. they've all got high quality reels on them. but i don't have any family and work hard for a pretty good living so my money goes to fishing tackle and high end shotguns cause i love to bird hunt as much as fish. do you need that kind of equipment to catch fish and kill birds? no you don't. my grandpaw caught more than one man could eat in a liftime with cane poles he cut out of his own back yard.

Some people are happy eating sirloin, others prefer fillet or prime rib.. And what's with all the color choices on vehicles. Henry Ford had it right when he offered any color ya wanted, so long as it was black.

When I get ready to buy anything I always give myself a couple months to think about it and do research on the product whether it be fishing rods or what. If I still want it after that time I will buy it if I can afford it. My preacher once preached a sermon on money and this is what he said. If the good Lord blesses you with diamonds baby let them shine. Don't have any diamonds but I do have some nice BnM rods and been thinking a couple months about a Sharpshooter 6 rod which I may pick up tomorrow.
