I have noticed that a lot of crappie fishermen don't seem seem to like other fish. Anyone have an explanation.

I prefer bream and crappie to eat, and its fun as heck to catch them. I also love bass fishing, but I don't eat them. When the water gets warm, I quit fishing for crappie, or at least quit keeping them, because to me they only taste good from cold water. So I fish for crappie in the winter and early spring, bream in the spring especially on the full moons, and bass all the time. I am not a crappie-only fisherman.

My main fish I target is Walleyes and my secondary is Crappie both very good table fair. For Walleyes anything over 20 inches goes back and for Crappies anything under 10 and over 12 goes back. In this area a 12 inch Crappies is not the most commonest fish you will catch.
I also fish Bass, Northern Pike, Flathead Catfish, Perch, Sturgeon, Panfish and Catfish. About the only thing I do not target is Muskies.
I quit bass fishing years ago due to all the rude bass fishermen. It just wasn't worth the hassle to me.
I love to fish for crappie and bream.
Love to fish for bream and stripers at times for they are good table food also.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
My fish of choice to catch and eat is the shell cracker, second would be bluegill. Don't really care about any of the other fishes.
As for freshwater fish: I like to eat bream, perch, blue and channel catfish and love to sportfish for many different species that I choose not to eat... but as for the cleanest, flakiest, sweetest tastin' table fare of them all... I would hands down put yellow and white perch and crappies as my long time favorite.
