The water looks amazing.
What about a black nosed crappie holding tight to structure (tree/stickup) waiting for an ambush? Maybe rotate enough to get a good view of the black stripe coming down the forehead and nose area?

I appreciate the many comments about the water... but I must be honest in saying that the water is a background that I chose and edited digitally by taking an image of a lake or water surface and (both) flipping it (upside down) and inverting it (turning it inside out) and then altering the color and color transition so that it would gradually fade to a darker shade as it approached deeper water or the bottom.
I always digitally produce all of my drawings with no background (or transparent png images) so that I can use them for t-shirts and inclusion in many types of multimedia artwork.

Nice work... However, I would like to see more of the dark on the fish. They appear washed out to me...
