I have a Piscifun baitcaster it is roughly what you would call a 50 size. I have a Core 50 on a GLoomis NRX 852C that I have fun casting small Crappie size crankbaits and 1/16 ounce jigs tipped with plastics for Walleyes. I wanted another setup but did not want to spend the money on another Core 50, I took a chance on the Pisicifun reel $89 versus $350 for the Core, I was really surprised how well the Pisicifun performed with the lighter spool purchased separately and a Kistler Helium 3 7ft in MLXF it will out cast my Core. Is it as smooth as the Core no, is the drag as good no, but it is not that far off. Would I buy another you bet with out hesitation will it last as long as the Core probably not but I can buy 3 of the Pisicifun for the price of one core.

I have a Piscifun Flame spinning reel in 2000 size on a dock shooting rod. I bought it just to try - it is ridiculous quality for very little money; it has 9 bearings, and 3-disc drag. I usually buy the Daiwa Revros (ebay over-runs, made in Vietnam) for my inexpensive crappie/bream/trolling reels at about $35, and this feels as good for less money. Time will tell if it lasts, so far it is holding up fine. I like it better for trolling rods than the Shimano 1x cheapos.

I try very hard not to fish with reels that I cannot pronounce their name!

Online reviews seem to be pretty good. Great value if quality holds!

Pisces (pi-seez) is the zodiac fish sign, so I pronounce it pi-see-fun. Fishing is fun.

I've heard good things about the fly reels.

They're made in China, like 99.99% of the rest of your tackle.

Is that size similar to the Pflueger 25? I think I might get one and try it. I need some new reels. Hard to beat the Presidents though.

I don't know - I've actually never owned a single Pfluger! Not sure why - they come highly recommended - but, I've always been partial to other brands. I guess it is the next size up from the usual ultra-light (500), and light (1000) size reels, whatever that is. I find the bigger spool diameter casts farther with less line memory, so I usually get this size for crappie/panfish.

They don’t have the 1000 size anymore. Smallest is the 2000 size. Wondering if that would be to big
I have other reels that are to big and I don’t fish them.
