    Default FISH FINDER ALARMS

I'm thinking just the bow ff here.
Do any of ya'll use the fish ID alarm or water depth alarm?
I never have because it's to loud. And I don't want to draw the attention of others as well. My small ff doesn't have a volume setting that I know of.
Yes my eyes are glued to the console ff.
And the bow ff when trolling slowly.
    But not always casting.
Reason I ask, back in the spring I saw a guy running a stump field with a ss boat dipping jigs. I could hear his alarm and he was picking up some small fish on those stumps. And he was fishing fast too. But that thing going off all the time would get on my nerves.

I don't have audible alarms but I do use the shallow water alarm or highlight feature on my LakeMaster map cards. Anything UNDER 4 feet of water is red.

At a time in a past life I had I believe it was an Eagle locator that had the fish and shallow alarms and I didn't know enough about it to turn the noise off. Just ignored it which defeated the whole idea of an alarm.

I turn alarms off on every fish finder. Even if I get in someone elses boat. It drives me nuts to the point that if I am close enough to hear it from another boat I will leave the area! A lot of people have their unit setup to show fish icons. Even the smallest speck shows as a fish. The alarm sounds every time one hits the screen. Like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Like Doug, I do run a shallow water alert.

Never used the fish alarm but the depth alarm is a must if you ever fish for flounder on the ocean side of the eastern banks in Va. Its real easy to run aground over there.

I use mine a good bit.
Especially when I’m cruising a stumpy area and can’t watch the screen constantly.

Thanks everyone. The only way mine works is with ID turned on. Don't care for fish ID. Submerged timber will drive you nuts. lol.

I use the shallow water highlight on Kentucky and Barkley, everything under 5' is RED. Easy to find super shallow water in the middle of the lake, especially at winter pool. No Alarms though.
