Double braided nylon. Small diameter but strong. Will not rot. Just make sure it is true nylon. Several brands out there.
I use my anchor rope on the bow to anchor or launch my boat “16’fisher” but I’m getting tired of it rotting or coming apart. Would like input on anyone who has had good luck with their brand or type.

What Cray said. It cost a lot more but well worth it.

Look up Amarine-made double braided nylon rope. Cheapest I could find, I bought 50ft of 3/4" off Ebay for $30 or so. I wouldn't recommend 3/4" though. 1/2" or 3/8" probably do you fine. I use mine as a bow rope for unloading and a backup for a tow rope.

Good info!
I have a 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch thick nylon and the bigger is easier on my hands pulling up a 20 lb anchor.
IMO bigger is better.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
Look up amsteel rope. 7/32 dia. Will hold like 5000 lbs I think. It floats and comes in all different colors. I use yellow so I can see it in my rear view mirrors easily. And it's a hollow braid rope so that you can bury the ends and you don't have unsightly knots in it.
