Yeah I know I planned to order from one of our sponsors but just wanted to feel it first. Walmart was probably my best chance for that.

So is this strictly a jigging pole or can you use it traditionally?

I have 2 of the new version. I use them to jig as well as cast. Love them. They work great. They are at Wallyworld, but not in the usual row of rods. They were over by the small isolated crappie section.

I was searching for a review the rod and came across your thread. What do you think of the rod? Would be good for jigging?
    Thanks for your reply.

I never purchased that rod. I know several others here have and love it though. Still have my eye on it though.

I carelessly broke my 7 ft Sam Heaton last year and haven't replaced with another but I will. Still available at Walmart for around $36.

I've got one and I really like it. I cast mine and troll small crankbaits and it does fine. A little short for me as a jigging rod bout I'm sure it would do that equally well.

I have the 7' Sam Heaton Signature Series rod ... forerunner of the Super Sensitive ... and it's a decent casting rod, but I wouldn't consider it as much of a vertical jigging rod. Two reasons : one is that it's a little on the short side for that purpose IMHO & second reason is that it's a little on the soft side (parabolic bend) action-wise. That's not to say that it wouldn't work for that purpose, just that for me it's not what I'd use. I'd want a 9-12' rod that had a fast action tip ... jus'sayin !!

Ive got 3 of the newer Super Sensitives and they are my go to jig casting rods would want a longer rod for jigging. They are very sensitive can feel light bites. Already posted in thread earlier but thought would bring it up again.
