I’ve had a 7’ sams super sensitive (maroon) for several years and I like the rod except the reel seat came loose from the rod so I drilled and epoxied it then the eyelets started popping out. That pretty much did it for me on the rod.

I've got 2 of the old style (full cork handle) models. The only difference I can see is the split rear cork part of the handle. Not sure that's a value added feature or not? But I can vouch for the effectiveness, sensitivity and back bone of the SHSS blank. Casts 2# test braid with fluoro leader amazingly well with 1/32 - 1/16 oz. ball heads.
Crestliner08, I'd like to know more about 2# test braid. What are you using? Thanks.

I have a half dozen crappie rigs set up with Fireline Crystal 2# test main line with a 4' fluorocarbon leader. Casts and catches fish of all species just fine on them all. I have 3 SHSS's. One being that seven footer which I've had for about a dozen years now. Have caught some impressive fish on that rod which still serves me well.
