    Default Southerners are lucky...

They don't have to go thru fishing detox in the winter. I mean really. How many times can I sort my tackle, oil reels, pack wheel bearings, study topo maps, well ya get the picture don't ya? Not been since October and it is a painful process. Ok rant over.

Well, in southeast Texas we have had non-stop rain since October. A rancher in Brazos County recorded over 100 inches of rain for 2018. I'm sure there has been plenty of good fishing in the lakes, but I frequent the small rivers from winter through spring and it is killing me.

Yes I have been ice fishing twice in my life. Both mistakes. I am too big of a sissy and unhealthy to sit on a giant block of ice.

Never thought about all the rain. That is why you will never see me in the "Smartest 100 People in the USA" list.Southerners are lucky...

I had no idea that with the title this thread has that it was going to be a rant. I thought I was going to be reading about how Southerners were lucky to live where the women are beautiful, the food unsurpassed and football champions are developed. But I guess that's bragging.....so back to the rant. ;-)

Our floodgates at the dam have been open for the past month and a half.
