    Default BnM sharpshooter vs shooter6

Im wondering what the truly major difference is between the two? I have read the descriptions and the 6 has a finger notch? I dont get holding above the reel? Is that better? I am a fan of shorter rods for crappie amd samdbass fishing (please avoid the urge to convince me of a longer rod) im purely wondering what the pros and cons vs the models or is it just similar at a longer length. Im looking at a 5’ 6” So that vs a shooter 6? Ill prob pair with a small president if that matters? Ill ise 4lb mr crappie 1/32 or 1/16oz jigs

I am assuming you are speaking of both the BnM rods? The 6 is much stiffer (less whippy) and most bend is at the tip vs throughout the rod (Sharpshooter). That’s my take anyway. I own the 6, but have never fished with the Sharpshooter. I really like my 6, but, like you, don’t understand the cutout being at the front of the cork.

The sharp shooter 6s that I have looked at and felt of are as stiff as a board ! I have 3 of the sharp shooters and they work great for several different applications and used to shoot with them until I bought a 7’ speed shooter that is awseome and a 5’6” proangler!

all of the comments are correct the 6s is stiff as a board and the sharp shooter is way easier to work with. I also have the 7'WM speed shooter and that is all i use now.

I have the SharpShooter six with the pflueger president on it with 4lb line. Love it! The finger notch is so you can feel the rod and helps detect bites. It is different for me as I’m not use to holding the rod there but when jigging I do like it for that reason. I don’t always use it, it is there if I want to though. This is a very stiff rod and is great for shooting docks or other applications where more backbone is needed. The eyes are very small on this rod so not a very good float rod though. It cast those jigs easily and then has the power to get them home. One of my favorite rod & reel setups but I usually also take a UL rod.

Well i had a older bass pro graphite series 5’6” UL, it was pretty on the back and bent at the tip like the 6 sounds and i loved it, i gave it to my wifes aunt, i got it from my father n law (her brother) it was their dads rod amd i hates to see it go but giving someone who fishes when they can their dads rig to use was the right thing ao looking to replace it. I bought one at dicks om sale but when ingot it out it was a tad bit too limp. But i like 5’6” length for lots of reasons but it feels right to me so prowler may have posed a great option of the pro angler i just asumed bnm would have the best options

I have some Pro Angler rods, and feel the overall quality is a bit better than BnM.
The 5'6" is very nice but lite, not ultra lite, just slightly stiffer than ultra lite.
They are also great to deal with. Example, I bought the 5'6" and it arrived in a crushed box.
When I opened it I found just the very tip broken off. I called over there and talked with Ed Phillips, and he asked me to email him pics. But meanwhile he shipped me another rod and a free tip for the first one. So I ended up with a 2 for one, with one being 5'5" and the other 5'6".
