If you know someone with a lathe, they could chuck it up and remove about another 1/4" from the bottom of the pedestal, at the bigger part of the shaft this should give you enough clearance.

you are right S10. I thought I would get some ideas...pictures did the trick. Thanks again for the advice and thanks "G" for showing me the way to post. I believe the crowfoot is a good product. It really blows setting it all up and not being able to use it. I had bought new depth counter reels and rods all ready to do some trolling with newly purchased Picos and Bandits last summer. Major let down. I'm truly surprised that "Driftmaster" did not have more input...ideas...etc. After all, it was designed by them. I mean no disrespect...a little disappointed. Kind of like a kid with a Christmas present and cant play with it. Great forum. Thanks to all.
