    Default Line to reel question

I just bought a couple pflueger reels that are rated for 6lb line. I normally use 4lb line on 4lb reels. If I put 4lb line on the new reels instead of 6lb would I have a lot of bird nest?

Fyi they have the lady president reels on the pflueger site for $33

Most reels will hold any size line on them. The determining factor is always the "amount" of line each reel will hold in that particular diameter. You shouldn't have any issues with 4lb test line. You will just be able to put more line (in terms of distance) on the reel than what they say will fit in the 6lb variety.

No, but make sure you spool the reel correctly. The line needs come off the spoil the same direction as it's added to the reel otherwise it will twist. Also, closing the bale by hand rather than by cranking helps avoid twist

Those are the 35 series reels on sale, they are a larger reel. Thanks for the tip though I was going to buy several for my 7' 6" split handle ACC Crappie STIX if they were 20 or 25 series.
