    BAMA S,
If your going to jump into this kinda business, you will need to advertise it accordingly to make it work and be booked up constantly. 25 rooms is alot. I have been in the trade show business over 46 years min. and you might want to consider, hitting some Boat & Sport Shows,,fishing shows, Outdoorish shows, with a booth and brochures,,,alot of resorts rely on these type of shows to book their fishing resorts. Another way is to join a Assn. like a lake or tourism assn, and they pass out your color brochures and do the advertising for you. These Tourism Assns do not talk up or personally sell your business, as personal touch is the best way is you or your reps. talking to the possible clients as best sales way. Alot of these exhibitors book right during the shows they do as they keep their schedule book right with them. You have the internet,,putting together a nice website with your advertising and pics in it. Hit all the fishing forums,,and advertise that way as as well. Check out other fishing resorts, and how they do it, but the established resorts,,have built up their client listings over the years they have been in business and are pretty well established. Use your imagination how the fishing camps and resorts have established their business. Check out local pricing of others in this type business around Lake Martin and see what they are charging also. Just a couple of thoughts for you to think about as it can be quite a bit of work, filling 25 rooms in your peak seasons. I visit about 20-25 shows and events per year throughout the US in my work promoting and selling the Indy Boat Sport & Travel Show, the Indiana Deer Turkey Waterfowl Expo, and the Indiana Motorcycle Expo.

One more question. Would you consider a monthly rate for us retirees that would like to stay a while? Been visiting Ky lake for 31 consecutive years now. Use to stay a week to two starting out. After I retired, I decided why not make it a month trip. It’s nice getting a discount when staying that long.
