Similar to the one that I wear. I've never needed it to save my life but I'm confident that it would. Well, at least keep me afloat.
Maybe there is something I don't understand. I almost decided not to post this for fear of it being seen as critical, and that is not my intent at all. I am just wondering why a PFD like this wouldn't work. I have on at all times while in the boat and think it is quite comfortable. I'm 77 and last year I fell out of boat and nearly drowned. My seat came loose from the deck and in I went. Won't bore anyone with details, but believe me it was nearly lights out. My PFD was sitting on the deck at me feet--didn't help me a bit, they need to be worn. Anyway, here's the PFD I'm talking about, self inflating.

Did not take it as critical at all. I have had my inflatable 6years and wear it always. Just started thinking about what is going to give me my best chance if i get in the water. This subject will get many opinions and most all will be good and sharing with each other is one of the great things on cdc. The nrs chinook is a pfd that i like the looks of and will probably purchase. At 72 or 77 getting back in the boat will be difficult and that would be something good to share. If you got them wear them. Thanks to everyone who shared.
