pros is the weight, line retreive is good, large handles helps with quicker response. size is close to a fly reel.

cons is loose lines can get cught up on the handles.

The handles do look like overkill. I'm looking for a reel for winter deep water fishing. WM solos aren't really made for this, spin cast twist the line when I pull line off the reel so I'm looking for something new

on these type of reels they are not like a fly reel. the line actually is tighter to the rod (on mine). so you will not have allot of slack as you would on others. Also as stated you can hold the line in other hand. I vertical fish as deep as 30' with mine.

I found a great deal on a pair of Eagle Claw inline reels. I am currently waiting on the mailman to drop them off at house. I got a pair of 12ft jigging poles to try them on.
