What I can add is, when they pleasure fish, they use a lot of 6's. Only 6 rods, 6lb test line, and 1/16th ounce jigs. Some are painted, others are not. No skirts, just live minnows.
Other than that, they are super intense, they see something, their hand is hovering over the rod at the ready, ready to set the hook. Another example of their intensity is, Ron catches a Catfish by accident (of course) and he simply shuffles the rods, hangs the rod with the catfish out behind him, fighting it blindly, will all his eyes and attention still focused on the other rods he's still fishing crappie with. Once he feels the cat is tired enough, he swings it boat side, and he or I would unhook it. New minner for that rod, and it's in the water fishing with it again. Everything was smooth, and deliberate, just like they've been fishing their whole life, and well, they have been!
