    Default Favorite Bobber Stop?

For those of you that use slip bobbers, what is your favorite type of bobber stop?

String knots, little rubber ones, or something else?

    Thanks in advance.

I've tried the ones shaped like a dog bone and the ones shaped like a ladder .... didn't like either one & they got brittle and basically just crumbled after a couple of seasons in the tackle box.

I've also tried the rubber nubs ... much better results, but only if you get the next smallest size in relation to pound test line being used. But, their downside is catching at the tip and getting pushed down the line when reeling in under much tension (like when fighting a fish to the boat/net).

Have, but haven't tried the string style, so can't comment on those. I've also heard members say to use un-waxed dental floss in place of the string style stops. And some just use mono, rubber bands, and various other things.

I rarely, if ever, use a slip float nowadays ... and with my favorite casting rods having micro guides, it ain't likely I'll start.

I have good luck with the rubber ones. I think that they all should be checked after landing a fish.

I use the dog bone style stops. The only downside are they are ultra small and you better have the eyesight of a hawk to use them. My second favorite is just a regular old rubber band.

Football rubber ones from Bass pro shop. They are cheap and Ialways put one below the bobber as well. It keeps me from having to chase my float down when I break off and I can pin it up high when I want to tightline/vertical.
