Bank fishing this time of the year can be a bit tough for sure. Just don't give up that's the reason they call it fishing and not catch'n. I would look for the deepest part of the lake looking for any type structure also. Under and around bridges are also good places. The main dam is usually the deepest and around or close to the spillways and outlets. Always look for trees that have fallen into the water as crappie do like to hang around them. Fish are like people they like shade when the sun is out and it's hot so look for fish around shaded places. Docks are a really good places to fish. Hope this is a little bit of help to you. I will be looking forward to seeing your fishing reports and pictures.
Be safe and good luck fishing

See if you can find a good map of the area that shows depth and contour. I'm with Scat on this one. This time of year, these fish are looking for deeper water. Although they may not be down to the depths, this is what they are suspending over. You might find after looking at a map that you have been fishing some pretty shallow areas. If bank fishing is all you have, concentrate your efforts on contour lines that are close to the bank and reachable by casting from shore.

Vary your depth with a slip bobber until you find the depth they are after. Although harder to find than shallow areas and bays, when you find these deeper spots that you can reach from shore, you will find the fish!

Does the lake have rental boats? Try end of pier or off a bridge if there is one around and traffic is not too bad. I know a pier that the local bank huggers like me use and some of them "spice" it up during the "off" season.

I certainly don't know what they are doin' in Arizona... but I can tell you that around here they are going to the wood... and off points with structure... and at times pretty shallow too in the mornings and evenings and tend to ease toward deeper water toward the middle of the day. If you don't have access to a boat... try to find places like I'm talking about and just give it a try mornings and evenings.

I don’t know where you are exactly but the fall bite is on at this time . I think you should hit the bait shop and ask a hundred questions . Possibly find a deep water dock to pitch off of . Maybe even look up a major tributary on that lake .
There are a terribly high number of possible scenarios and for sure when you are on the bank it can be difficult to figure out the ticket .
They might possibly be shallow early in the mornings and might come back to those spots after dark as well . The one thing i do know is that if and when you find them try to repeat that scenario .
Sometimes it’s as simple as the cadence of the offering andor the depth .other times it’s something else , like weather conditions and or time of day .
They might be on rocks along the dam as well or possibly concrete.
And lay down big tree tops off the shore .
Luck to ya and never say never , they can Be kinda tricky to figure out .

    Mr.Ketchn
    thanks for your info .
I've always fished bass tournaments .
Bass an Crappie are 2 different fish.
    But I'll learn .
    thanks again
