    Default Spider rigging braid?

Contemplating switching my spider rig rods over to braid vs the mono I currently run. I have no real “issue” with my mono other than the normal wear and tear causing breaks when lifting fish or hook sets. Thought braid may cut down on that. Usually push minnows, sometimes run double rigs. Not sure how that works with braid.

They do have a "yellow" hi-viz PowerPro braid ... I use the 10/2 hi-viz and haven't had any problems with it. It will fade after awhile of use, but is still way more visible than clear/blu mono. I have un-spooled it from my spinning reel & reversed it before, to get the un-faded hi-viz end into use, but that was after a couple of years of using it. The strength on the faded end was still good, just the brightness of the line had diminished.

I tried braid and went back to mono. I'm bad to grab the line and lift fish out of the water and that thin braid will cut the dog out of your hand and fingers for sure.
Be safe and good luck fishing

Yeaaaa I’m bad about that too! Cuts like a razor blade especially if you’ve had ur hand in a minnow bucket all morning. That’s why I took my 10/2 off my jig pole bc I would get hung and try to pull the line vs my rod and it would bury into my hand. Currently running 10lb SlimeLine and no real complaints. I notice most of my breaks are at the 1/2oz egg weight where I’ve looped it through 3x. guess that’s a pinch point.

Stop wrapping those weights. Slide sinker on then a bead, then tie on a #7 barrel swivel. From there tie on a 8 inch leader for bottom hook. Just let weight slide up and down. By the way I use braid on all my reels. Just got some new high viz yellow XPS braid from bass pro on sale. Seems to be pretty good.

I make my rigs exactly like Cray does. I use the double hook rigs made that way. I tried braid on my spider rig rods and it stayed wrapped around the tip all the time and I took it back off and went back to mono.
