I have the same issue with my tracker 175. I remove the seat and lay on floor or remove the post/seat and replace seat without the post. Either of these solutions is inconvenient but either is better than only being able to see half of what you need to see while underway. I like the idea of raising the seat for reasons given by "putput."

For the safety of myself and my crew, the three seconds it takes to remove the seat and post is far better than the outcome that could happen if I didn't remove it. Regardless of the type of seat. Altering the way I sit in the captains chair or standing up while the boat is moving above idle speed is not a safety option in my opinion. We where a PFD and a tether for issues that happen that are out of our control. Removing the seat to provide an unubstructed view while underway IS something that is within our control!

Just get in the habit of removing the seat regardless of the type. Much better piece of mind!

Be careful how much you raise your seats, I heard of people getting tickets for being above the gunwale, when underpower of the main engine.

Thank you all so much! Glad to know I'm not the only one who deals with this. I think I will look for a lighter seat and remove it when underway.

Do you run rough water? A lighter seat might bounce out . If you have a threaded pedestal your ok

I have a millennium seat up front. I take the seat off the pedestal, turn it over and set it on the deck in front the steering console. It doesn't move at all even in rough water.

I have a Tracker 175 as well and before I got the double seat brackets, I got a adjustable post. I could pull the leaver and raise the seat where I could see under it. Now with the side kick I have to get up on one knee on the seat to halfway see.
