Good video Doug
Good job Doug. And IMHO it's not always the catfish that destroys the hooks, it's the removal process. Awfully hard to get those buggers out.

I agree 100%. I purposely omitted the fact that I often take pliers and rip a treble hook out of the mouth of a catfish. I find it lessens the chance of me getting finned and most of the time it is easier and quicker for me to just replace the hook. Often even if I try to be easy and work the hook loose I end up badly bending or breaking one or more of the hooks. Ive even been known to clip the split ring and leave a treble in a catfish we are going to keep.

Good video Doug. The split ring pliers are lifesavers and worth a bundle. Some of those kitties just don’t want to give that crankbait back.
