There was a storm a few years back that parked over Nashville and dumped rain until all the rivers were way out of the banks and flooding lots of the area. Took a long time for things to recover. The mall next to the Opry was flooded and closed for over a year, but BPS was open in a few months. Shows who had priorities.

I always stopped at that BPS on my way to southern Illinois hunting. After several hours in the car it was a nice break.

Just a couple years ago in Louisiana, Baton Rouge area. Something like 26 inches of rain in 36 hrs.No electricity for days. Stores out of everything. Affected 150,000+ homes and businesses. A restaurant that we ate at for 40 years and had never been flooded had 6 ft of water in it. It was called a thousand year flood and caught a lot of people without flood insurance. The area is still recovering in some ways. I know about this first hand, as I helped strip sheet rock , insulation , floors and cabinets out of my daughters home. Very hard and nerve racking, with rain still coming down.Should have seen the piles of peoples belongings set out in front of homes. Took over 6 months to get most of that cleaned up. But thank FEMA for their help. The carolina's will recover in due time. God bless them. It is an experience I hope to never have again and added to my decision to move to Tennessee after living in Louisiana 61 years. I personally had water in my own house twice as well as lost 2 roofs and a garage due to hurricanes. Now if the tornado's leave me alone.....
