    Default How much?

So i was sitting at work today thinking about how much money i spend when i travel away from the local fishing holes. When i say local i mean less then say 30-50 miles from the house. If you factor in ice boatmotor gas minnnows drinks and snacks I’d say its easily 100$+. How much do you spend per fishing trip?

Local lake $7.50. That's $4 to fish and $3.50 kayak launch fee. Haven't really gone anywhere not local. (30-50 miles)

    Work interruption.
I spend $7.50-$9.00 on 3 dozen minnows. Bring coffee from home and don't usually eat while fishing. I go through about 40-50 gallons of boat gas per season, tank and a half. That includes 8 tournaments and day trips, excludes vacation weeks.

Weekend camping/fishing trips run about $70. Includes camping fees ($40), same 3 dozen minnows ($10), and 18 pack of beer/ice.

For me, most all the lakes I fish are 1.5 to 2hrs travel time, just to get to those lakes. The drinks, food, snacks, etc. don't add much more to the cost, but some lakes have launch fees ($5), so it can add up. I don't do a lot of running with the big motor, so that gas money is spread out over many different trips. But, all in all, my trips to in-state lakes probably average around $50/trip. And, of course, any in-state or out of state trips lasting more than 1 day would likely be 2-3 times as much per day ... considering food, lodging, more vehicle/boat gas, and OOS license costs.

Up here, most travel is at most an hour or so away. The biggest expense is gas for the truck & main engine. We don't use live bait, so it's just what I've spent at Grizzly Jig!

I will go through more than 40-50 gallons of fuel per year and do not even get to fish often anymore...

    Depends...

The small lakes that are very close by have launch fees at $5 and $8. Truck gas is about $10, maybe $3 for boat gas, bait and snacks about $10. We take lunch or just eat once we get home. It is about $30 for those outings.

Taylorsville lake and the river are further away, but don't have launch fees. Truck gas is about $20 and add another $20+ for boat gas, plus snacks and bait $10+, and lunch $15+. It is an easy $50, if we don't buy lunch out. We usually hit a drive through on the way home anyways, so there are no hunger related meltdowns. In reality it is about $75, to take the wife and kids out for the day.

Camping runs about $100 a night on average for us.

My longer trips cost about like those already posted. I live within 5 miles of 3 ramps, planning. The way I look at it is if I have to count the cost, I usually don’t go. Hotels make it that much worse, mostly security concerns over cost.
