Yeah, but the crap I eat when fishing is different from the crap I normally eat.

I go pretty cheap. My company furnishes me a truck and all the gas, even personal use, I have a old folks card, they call it, that $20 for a lifetime on the COE lakes. I can go 4-5 trips on 15 gallons in my boat. I don't eat or drink any more than if I was home. I don't use minnows much.

I do not put a price on peace of mind. I will bear any burden and pay any price to be able to go fishing. The older that I get....the more fun that I have because I know one day it will be taken away.

I spend what ever it takes to make the trip special and try to enjoy the adventure and not worry about money. If I fish local all I spend is gas money as I can leave my dock and go 15 miles to the dam or go the other way and probably go 35 miles up the rivers. If I travel the the cost goes up. 2 of us going to Kentucky lake will cost around 300 a piece. My trips to other SC lake cost about 75 if fishing by myself.

Since I have three good lakes with thirty five minutes of me, with my favorite being only eight minutes away, a tank of gas will last me almost two weeks. That comes to about six bucks. Since I make my own ice and don’t have to stop to get bait, that about rounds out my cost per trip for the short trips. The longer trips take half an hour on average so that’s more gas. I’d estimate less than twenty bucks round trip for them. My Silverado gets around eighteen miles a gallon average and the farthest lake is less than twenty five miles away. That allows me to fish four to five times a week on average without having to put gas in my truck and my Honda motors sip gas so I only have to put gas in my boat roughly once a month. Unbelievable but totally the truth.
