Navy from 1965 - 1969, My Brother was on the Carrier USS BON HOMME RICHARD - CVA 31 ... I got Brother buty on the same ship.. as an enlisted man I was able to do once what very few Sailors have done -- I got to land on a Carrier out at sea... In the Mail Plane. I flew into Travis Air Force base on a Mats flight then see Hundreds of miles of the Back Country of the Philippines getting to Subic Bay Naval Station. My Job was Aviation Ordnance, mostly on the Flight Deck.. Both of those Bases are now closed due to the Volcano eruption in the Philippines..... I thought of retirement till the Navy talked me out of it

Take offs and landings on a aircraft carrier is a real ride. I have had a bunch of them. A3s ADs, CODs, and last but not least HELOs... Last flight physical was in 1967. Things have gone downhill since then....Or should I say roundhill.

I got my first Welcome Home from Vietnam from the guard at the Social security office when I signed up for SS 11 years ago....he spotted the sticker on my truck.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I missed the draft by about a week and to be sure I wasn’t looking forward to visiting that spot at that time . Those that did are hero’s for sure and all of our veterans and currently enlisted are hero’s as well .
Our great country has survived in a large part due to the men and women that have served in our armed forces .
I tip my hat to each and everyone of them and yes ....
    thank you all very much
