I don't know what's out there but my ideal storage rack would hold the rods in storage yet be connected as a single unit that could easily be removed from garage wall and placed in boat without having to disassemble the whole thing.
I'm finally getting my detached garage cleaned out (my wife is a borderline hoarder) and I'm going to build some type of storage system to keep my pulling and spider rigging rods hanging on the wall. I've got several ideas floating around in my gourd about what to do, but I'd like to see what some of you guys use. I'll be using vertical holders for casting rods.

I just use shelf hangers from lowes and have them installed under my boat shed. My rods normally never leave my boat as the only fishing I do is crappie.

Well this trailer park I live in is not gated and we have a few undesirables that have broken in cars late at night and early in the Am, so I keep everything not bolted down in my shed. I am installing a piece of PVC pipi about 3 in. long in the floor joist for the overhead storage area (lofted barn type shed), and cutting a chunk out of another for the tip area support. Two pieces for each rod...keeps them up out of the way and from damage.

you need to support long rods in the middle or they will sag and warp

My long rods are 2 piece and I take them apart and store them that way. I got limited space in the shed to start with.

I use 2 pieces of 1/2 inch galvanized electric conduit cut 5 ft plus each. Secured with mechanics wires to pipes at ends(do several wraps so doesn't come off ends) then wrap around screw's sunk into 2x4's of rafters. Store kayaks same way but add pool noodles over pipes were yaks rest. Works great & cheap.

Made these all by my onzie! An I ain't no carpenter... Like Richard Gene!
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
Stole this idea from someone else on here stores 41 rods up to 12' in a 18"X6' area. Placed them 4'6" apart could store a bunch more but the larger saltwater spinning reels get crowded pretty bad so I left a space between them.
