Pretty big one! Make sure u get the latest technology. The ones Harbor F & Northern sell are the older tech. I bought mine direct thru Amazon for about $150.
It won't charge up a group 27 -31 very fast, takes about 2 days.

Anything will charge them. The question is what kinda duty cycle are you looking for? Or how quickly do you need them charged? Good southern sun exposure or?? Setup is pretty straightforward. Most solar output is in DC. Wire direct or use charge controller..any other ?'s just ask. Theres a few on here that seem to have an idea.

After Hurricane Rita, I worked at a Gas Pipeline Pump station making Instrumentation repairs ... their people had pulled about 50 -- 2' x 4' solar panels from the field in a big pile. I was able to bring one home that had a bad diode in it. When my Brother got a divorce he moved in my back yard in a FEMA trailer.... We used his big boat instead of my small 14 footer - his with the motor was 20 feet but had all kinds of elect problems that I fixed... there was no power where he parked the Boat. With 2 big deep Cycle batteries the Collector was it -- when charging. I installed a Isolation switch that would connect both batteries or select which battery that was used or both batteries turned off. The collector did not have a regulator but only burned out one Diode in six years usage ---- we found that out on the lake when the boat would not start. But when a collector is always on line that small charging current will cause a lot of corrosion on the Terminals --- the second thing is the water levels MUST BE CHECKED because you will be needing more distilled water. The charger stayed in the Boat , when not in use the Glass faced the side of the boat then flipped it up to face the sun .... Bro no longer Lives in the back yard and the Collector is in my shed. For charging both batteries the switch needed to be in the position for Both to be on and it charged both at the same time.

I only use the boat once every two weeks, so the batteries don't need t be charged very fast.

then even a small one like sold at parts stores/walmart/wherever would do ya. I personally wouldn't spend a whole lotta money on it if that was the case. We've used the small 6" × 12" ones wired direct to good avail on equipment. They charged well enough to turn an 8.1L Detroit diesel...
Thanks floppingcrappie thanked you for this post
